An inspiring approach to meal times!

As reflective practitioners, striving to improve and offer outstanding practice at all our settings, this week we have implemented some inspiring additions to the children’s meal times. We are extremely lucky to work in close partnership with our food provider Yum Yum.Me and the food offers exceptional quality and variety to meet all the children’s needs.

Our mindful and dedicated team have been researching and making plans on how to make meal times feel homely and calm. In Scandinavian countries, meal times are a time to get together, talk, learn and enjoy and this was the starting point.

We added real and authentic resources with china plates, cups, serving bowls and jugs. The tables were presented beautifully to the children, with their own napkins and menu board. This was put into action at the Woolwell site this week….

The reaction from the children was truly breath taking and the lunchtime was so very calm and relaxing. The social interaction between the children and their care for the items on the tables left us speechless, it was a beautiful experience to be part of! We are very excited to be introducing this across all Bambinos sites in the coming months!
